FRED SMITH GOVERNOR 2008 - "A Little Extra Effort" Statewide BBQ Tour
Friday, February 15, 2008...Alexander County...While Ira steered the RV and its "brand new shoes" from Piedmont Tire in Raleigh to Alexander County, Rep. Bryan Holloway who introduced Fred at the Alleghany BBQ, drove him to Alexander to meet with the Taylorsville Times. Area residents who could not attend the BBQ also learned more about Fred through local reporters asking questions important in that county or region. After the interview, the local GOP hosted Fred at their headquarters for a "meet and greet." These opportunities give Fred greater time to visit with individual supporters and turn undecided voters into a vote for him. This "conversation with the people" also keeps Fred current on what's on people's minds, what's important to them region by region. Fred plans to be the governor of the people, not governor of the government, so the people are his first concern. You cannot accomplish that type of campaign with a one-sided media blitz. I believe that people will see the difference in the candidates and give credit where credit is due. No other candidate for governor has dedicated this type of "extra effort" to connect with the people or to understand their needs and desires. There's not another who's thought out a bold plan to move North Carolina forward. A lot of candidates give us cheap talk; Fred's given us an actionable plan. Fred's planning, ethics, and values are strong; I've witnessed them first-hand. When Fred arrived at Alexander Central High School the room was full; once again more people than we'd ordered food. The audience was cheering before and throughout Fred's speech and that boost encouraged him before a long weekend. Thanks, Alexander. You fortified Fred with good armor for the battle ahead. Clearly he's your choice. On May 6 he needs you to get out the vote!
