FRED SMITH GOVERNOR 2008 - "A Little Extra Effort" Statewide BBQ Tour
Look on as D.J., a Fred Smith campaign team-member, keeps the folks back home informed about Fred's activities while he's on the road meeting the people of our great state...

Monday, March 10, 2008...Anson County...There are some areas of the state where Republicans are so outnumbered by Democrats that we (me) limit our expectations. Joe and Fred headed out separately to a meeting in Chapel Hill while Ira and DeVan headed southwest to Anson County. We'd prepared for 50 (occasionally doubting) and as an old TV character used to say - was that the A Team? - "I love it when a plan comes together." And it did. The boys set up and the people started trickling into the Lilesville Fire Department to meet Fred Smith. Then more people and before they knew it the seats were filled with a capacity crowd eager to hear Fred's message of hope and what North Carolina can accomplish with a "change in management." It warms my heart to know there are so many people - voters - who once they meet and hear Fred's vision are converts and believers. We're even picking up Democrats who plan to change their voter registration to unaffiliated so they can vote for Fred in the primary. The numbers show that North Carolina can be lethargic about voting but this year it is imperative that our Republican candidate - Fred Smith - win the state house and be the governor of the people, not the governor of the government. Fred is working everyday to build that energy and excitement within the GOP. We need a man who has everyone's interests at heart not just the special interests of particular groups or cities. So tell your friends, vote Fred Smith, Tuesday, May 6, Primary Day!
